Join our third Community Debate Night! We'll have snacks and drinks on hand, two debates featuring informed and prepared community members, and Q&A opportunities after each debate during which you’ll be able to challenge the debaters directly by asking your own questions.
In the first debate, Jesse Rose and Henry Simon will debate the role of the Democratic Party in primaries: support selected candidates, or ensure a level playing field?
In the second debate, Paula Avila-Guillen and Connor Mealey will debate whether ICE should be abolished or reformed.
Both of these topics have been hotly debated in the past couple of years. By bringing these debates into the clubhouse, we’re looking to turn political tension into political community. Please join us for a neighborly night of friendly arguments about serious political questions.
The doors will open at 6:45pm, the first debate will start at 7pm, and we’ll wrap up around 9pm. You can participate in the Q&As or just sit back and enjoy some snacks and drinks. We’ll take a hand-raise poll at the end of the event to see which side prevailed in each debate. Suggested donations of $10 will cover costs for drinks and snacks. Any additional funds will go toward future programs like this.
