Want to help get local Democrats on the ballot for this year's election? We hope you can join us at our June General Body Meeting where we'll discuss petitioning as well as County Committee.
In honor of Pride Month, Executive Director of Destination Tomorrow Sean Coleman will join us to discuss LGBT issues.
All state elected officials from Governor to Assemblymembers, are up for election this Fall. Candidates must collect signatures on a petition in order to get on the ballot. You can help by carrying petitions and collecting signatures from registered Democrats in your neighborhood!
We'll also go over the Queens County Democratic Committee. Now is the time of year to join! You'll get to represent our neighborhood at a borough-wide meeting every two years. It's a grassroots way to be involved in our local Party as well as in the political process. To be eligible, you must be registered to vote as a Democrat in Part A of the 36th Assembly District (Astoria). To join, email powhatan01@gmail.com with your name and address. If you're not sure which district you're in, we can look it up.
Anyone who is interested in being a poll worker or inspector must also attend this meeting.
