Powhatan Democratic Club Members Collect Petition Signatures for Congressman Crowley

Astoria, N.Y. - Members of the Powhatan and Pocahontas Democratic Club, in conjunction with Taminent Democratic Club members, today gathered for a petition drive for Congressman Joseph Crowley.  They collected hundreds of petition signatures to help Crowley secure a place on the ballot in the upcoming Congressional elections.

Members had the opportunity to meet and hear from Crowley, as well as Council Members Costa Constantinides and Justin Brannan, and Assemblymember Simotas.  The club then held a training for those new to the petitioning process before members canvassed the neighborhood and knocked on doors to collect signatures from registered Democrats.

“Our members showed enthusiasm for participating in this grassroots process,” said the club’s Political Vice President Nick Roloson.  “The petitioning process gives Powhatan members the opportunity to get to know to their neighbors and brings us closer to the democratic electoral process.  We were happy to meet with Congressman Crowley and support his candidacy in this vital and substantive way. Thank you to everyone who joined us!”
